I have watched videos. I have read. I think I am just incapable of comprehension at this point. Every time I think I've figured it out... I am lost.
Is there anywhere that explains the hierarchy and how this works that isn't stuttering and confusing?
I have been using 17Hats for my workflow for a year and it just doesn't work for bookkeeping like Studio Cloud does. This, however, is so overwhelming that I am tempted to continue to use StudioCloud for bookkeeping and 17Hats for the workflow
Or is there an actual hierarchy?
I understand that tasks associated with an order happen when a certain product/products are ordered.
I understand that Projects are a list of tasks.
Is there anyone that can treat me like a child and explain this to me?

However, if you want the most basic workflow then the following link, which is included in the url above, will explain how to setup invoice pipelines. https://app1.studiocloud.com/support/index.php?/article/AA-00792/192/

A summary of the basic order tracking workflow included in the link above is as follows:

1. Turn off all the pipelines except for invoice pipelines. Here is the tutorial on how to do that. https://app1.studiocloud.com/support/index.php?/article/AA-00793
2. Create a basic invoice pipeline with invoice stages. Here is the tutorial on how to do that. https://app1.studiocloud.com/support/index.php?/article/AA-00512/192/

A sample invoice pipeline would be

Invoice Pipeline Name: Order Tracking
Invoice Pipeline Stage 1: Order In Progress
Invoice Pipeline Stage 2: Awaiting Customer Pickup
Invoice Pipeline Stage 3: Order Shipped To Customer
Invoice Pipeline Stage 4: Order Complete

4. Enable the invoice pipeline column in the list of invoices

You are now done with setting up the order tracking workflow.

To use the workflow select the invoice pipeline from the settings tab when creating or editing an invoice.

To view the order status you can look at the invoice pipeline column or you can use the invoice workflow view. This tutorial explains how to use it.

I think I am so frustrated that I am doing a terrible job of explaining what I need, so please bear with me.
With the other program I have been using workflows pretty much can encompass everything.
Within a workflow I can create a series of steps and they can be automated or require my approval or action before happening.
For example my workflow for a portrait session begins the minute I activate it and this is what happens:
Automatically sends booking confirmation email
Automatically sends the contract to be signed
Automatically sends the booking fee invoice to be paid
IF the contract or invoice are not returned within 3 days from activation it sends Booking/Invoice reminder
IF the contract or invoiced isn't returned on the 4th day it sends Cancel booking email
Several tasks are then included that are I have to do before a session
2 days prior to the session it sends an email reminder
1 day prior to the session a task pops up for me to call and confirm
Task-portrait session.
Task-ingestion from memory cards. The workflow does not go forward until I complete this task.
Then several tasks for me to complete-editing, prepping for proofing and all of that stuff.
And so on through the delivery of finished products. There are several other client emails and things for me to do that happen.

My question is how do I create this. I am so confused on Projects, Jobs, Events, Pipelines, etc. that I am so clueless.
I want to create a template that I can use over and over that will include all of the work related to my sessions, weddings, etc.

I do realize that I have the ability to create automatic {to do list-I have no clue which is the right piece here} that will generate when a client orders certain products. I realize that this falls under order______ something...

I am probably bout as clear as concrete and I apologize. Each time I watch something and think I have it figured out... I find I don't have it figured out. Then I am flipping back and forth thru the help menu and getting myself totally lost again.
Then I go back to the videos, only each element is in a dozen different videos for different things... I am running in a vicious circle!

I think what I am asking is what encompasses ALL of the elements and will automatically move from step 1 through closing?
